Poor Road Condition Led to a Boy’s Death on NH 31 at Dhupguri

Webdesk, TNI Dhupguri 9th May, 2017: In a gruesome incident a 9-year-old boy was killed at Vemtia area of Dhupguri town on NH 31. The boy was in the pillion of a bike which was stuck in a speeding truck towards Jalpaiguri. The bike was trying to cross the truck when it fell in a pothole and fell. Unfortunately, it stuck in the rear wheel of the truck. The poor boy was pulled some kms and he died instantly. The bike rider was also seriously injured and is admitted to the hospital. The truck was caught by the mob and they smashed it. The police rushed to the spot and the situation came under control just after that. Locals informed that such accidents are very common yet the administration is not taking any action to develop the road condition of NH 31.
